Rhino Lodge & Hotel is a warm, family-run jungle lodge in the heart of Sauraha, right at the gateway to Chitwan National Park in Nepal. For years we’ve welcomed travellers from Nepal and around the world with comfortable, air-conditioned rooms, a garden pool and genuine Tharu-region hospitality all just minutes from where wild one-horned rhinos roam. Our name says it best: at Rhino Lodge, the wildlife often comes to you.
Four decades on the edge of the jungle
Our Story
Rhino Lodge & Hotel opened its doors in 1984, in the early days of tourism in Sauraha when Chitwan National Park was still a well-kept secret and the village was little more than a handful of homes along the Rapti River.
What began as a small family guesthouse has grown, season by season, into one of Sauraha’s most trusted lodges. Through all of it we’ve stayed family-owned and family-run, the same people who welcomed the first guests still greet you at the gate today.
Over forty years we’ve guided tens of thousands of travelers into the park, watched the one-horned rhino recover from the brink, and grown alongside the community and the wildlife we depend on. We’re proud of how far Chitwan has come, and grateful to still be here at the heart of it.
