A jungle walk or walking safari takes you into Chitwan National Park on foot, rather than by jeep, accompanied by two government-licensed naturalist guides. Walking is slower and quieter, so you notice the things a vehicle drives past fresh rhino tracks, birdsong, insects, animal signs and the feel of the forest itself. It’s the most immersive way to experience the park, and a favourite of birdwatchers and keen wildlife travellers.
Because you’re on foot in a park with wild rhinos, sloth bears and (rarely) tigers, safety matters which is exactly why park rules require two trained guides and a briefing before you enter. Read the safety section below before you book.
